Greenwich is an outstanding place to visit, full of history, wildlife and heritage. Greenwich Park provides a setting for several historic buildings, including the Old Royal Observatory, the Old Royal Naval College, the National Maritime Museum and the Queen's House.Steeped in its seafaring history Greenwich is the original home of the Old Royal Naval College, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the Painted Hall, and the Old Royal Dreadnought Hospital. In 1997 Greenwich Maritime was declared a World Heritage site.There are many things to do, to see and to photograph. The National Maritime Museum is free and is an outstanding visit. Wonderful boats, exhibits and paintings are on display.
The quaint and historic village of Greenwich has a thriving arts and crafts market (Wednesday to Sunday) with specialist shops selling the unusual and at times extra-ordinary.
